Bio

I fell into iGaming editorial sideways. My first job out of a journalism degree at the University of Sydney was at a financial services trade publication, where I spent two years writing about consumer credit and payment systems. The crossover to gambling came in 2014 when a long-form piece I wrote about online wagering regulation got picked up by an affiliate network looking for someone who could actually read a licensing document. Ten years on, that's still most of what I do.

I specialise in Australian and New Zealand markets because they're peculiar — strong local consumer protections, an enthusiastic but cautious player base, and operator behaviours that don't quite match the European or LATAM patterns. The Interactive Gambling Act, BetStop, the patchwork of state-level enforcement around the country — none of it reads like a global template. I find it interesting precisely because it isn't generic.

The work I'm proudest of is the unglamorous kind: filing real KYC documents on test accounts to verify operator turnaround times, running deposit-and-withdrawal cycles with my own money to time the actual cashier behaviour, reading bonus terms PDFs against their marketing copy to find the gaps. Most casino reviews online are written by people who have never logged into the site they're reviewing. I always have.

If you want a fast take, watch a YouTuber. If you want the wagering math, the failure modes, and the part of the T&Cs nobody reads — that's what I'm here to do.

Editorial policy

Everything I publish is verified against operator T&Cs and, where possible, against the live cashier flow. I declare the affiliate relationship plainly — the site earns commission on registrations made via /go/ links — and I do not accept payment to alter coverage. Pages are reviewed and updated monthly. If a fact is wrong, that's on me; email [email protected] and I'll fix it on the next pass.

I don't write "beat the house" content. I do write about how to read a bonus offer like an analyst rather than a marketing brochure, and how to take fewer unforced losses on the operational side — bank declines, KYC delays, lost withdrawals to misnamed cards. The edge cases are where the friction lives.
